Fabolous Back To Mixtape

Brooklyn rapper Fabolous reveals his reasons for stepping out of the mixtape game which is because of the lack of passion when composing a mixtape by an artist which has given mixtapes a bad name. Not wanting to be a part of that era, Fab felt his best option was to back out.



"I had stopped doing the mixtapes because I felt we lost that, between DJs slopping together tapes just to make tapes and some artists really just putting two or three new songs together and a bunch of old songs and throwing a mixtape out. Certain DJs making unofficial tapes where they are just grabbing leaked stuff or taking stuff and putting it over other beats."



Fortunately for Fabolous and his fans he has decided to make his return to mixtapes and mentions that he respects artists such as Cam'ron, Lil Wayne, and Drake for their album approach to mixtapes, making it the same way they would as if it was an official album.



"I thought the game got saturated, but in '09 and recently at the top of '10, you seen Cam drop joints. Wayne dropped a joint, of course, Drake's mixtape being infamous for being one of the best ones for '09. It put the fuel back in me to do the mixtape thing. I was focused on a whole 'nother agenda. Just having so many shows took my mind off of it."



Fabolous' most recent mixtape The Funeral Service: There Is No Competition 2 was produced by DJ Drama and is Fab's proof to the world that no other MC can compete with his lyrics. On the mixtape Fab rhymes over beats such as Timbaland's Say Something and Young Money's Roger That.
